You know those love stories you hear about when the couple met as children and somehow managed to stay together through the hardest years of life? Well, Marissa & Cayden are one of those couples! We had such a wonderful Friday evening with these two along with their family & friends.
Our day started at Victory Church in Franklin, IN. Marissa chose black and white with touches of soft green, which meant I got to have fun with black and whites!
Let me tell you a little bit of their love story. Cayden and Marissa met back when they were kids in elementary school. I had a friend whose mother was best friends with Cayden’s mother. They met at her friends birthday party and didn’t reconnect until they were freshman in high school. Cayden was turning 16 and they both happened to be in Panama City Beach, Florida. Marissa was there for a softball World Series and Cayden was there for a family vacation. This was back when MySpace was around, Marissa commented on a photo of him and said “wow, you look muscular.” She instantly received a message that said “I’m in Panama City too. You should text me.”
They began dating August 8, 2010 (yes they remember the exact date). Marissa instantly knew that he would be the one she would spend forever with. They became engaged July 2, 2018.
They chose a private first look with each other to get the day started.
We loved the low key lighting Marissa & Cayden chose for their ceremony along with the touches of black and white. The spotlight was on these two during their sweet ceremony.
When we asked Cayden what his favorite things about his bride to be were, he said "my favorite things about my wife to be are the way she cares for others, her drive to get things done and what she wants, and of course her beauty. She's a very caring person and has a good heart. I know she'll make me one happy husband, and I hope to make her one happy wife."
We loved Marissa's lace gown combined with her cathedral length veil. When combined with family heirlooms and sparkling head pieces, she was a stunner.
Marissa's favorite things about her husband? Marissa said, "my favorite thing about my husband to be is his willingness to protect me. He’s a very independent, hard working man. Did I mention how handsome he is? He’s the most handsome man I’ve ever laid my eyes on! I know I’m safe with him, even when I was 14 years old and didn’t know what love was. Here we are 8 years later and I couldn’t be more thankful to have him in this crazy life."
Cayden's attire was simple yet so perfectly fitting for his style. We adored the pops of black and white stripes on his suspenders. Tied with his simple black bow tie, he was one handsome groom!
Cayden & Marissa chose to surround themselves with close friends & family for their big day.
Time to head to the reception! In style we might add
The reception was held at Factory 12 Event Loft in historic downtown Columbus. Again, this venue perfectly suited their black and white theme.
Congratulations you two!! Your day was just so perfectly you!
